The Adidas Match 3.4 is where most people should start. It is built to be easy to hit with rather than to flatter a technique you have not developed yet.

The hybrid head sits between a diamond and a round — enough sweet spot to forgive a mistimed ball, enough shape to still put something on an overhead. Paired with a fibreglass face and a low-density EVA Soft Performance core, the ball comes off the strings easily, so you get depth without having to swing out of your shoes.

Smart Holes Linear spaces the holes evenly across the face to reinforce the hitting surface, and structural reinforcements resist twisting on off-centre contact — the two things that usually kill an entry-level racket inside a season.
